I’ve tried nearly every google map plugin, but all have the same effect…no map is visible. Though I am able to see the container. I am currently developing my site, so it is not yet “live.” Anyone have any suggestions??

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.
Have you tried using the following Google maps plugins?
This can be due to plugin conflict on your site so please try temporary deactivating all plugins and see whether everything works fine and then enable the plugins one by one to see which plugin is conflicting if any.
Can you check the JavaScript console for errors when you click on the add button of this widget?
In Chrome go to “Tools -> Developer Tools” and in Firefox you can go to “Tools -> Web Developer -> Console”

Let me know what JavaScript errors if any you are getting when you face this issue.

Sadly, I found the cause and the plugin is now deactivated.
