Appearance / Customize = Blank (Not working)

Hi,

I have used the shapely theme before (I really like it), for different reasons I had to rebuild my website and after installing the theme and the plugins - the “customize” tabb under “Appearance” does not work…

It is working when I remove the recommended plugin “Companion”… But as you understand - I need the plugin to get the theme up and running.

Why is this happening?

I do not have any other plugins installed - and the wordpress and the theme is the latest versions.

Please help.

I have this same problem. I processed some updates today and now I can’t get the customizer to load, it’s completely stuck. My website is www.growstrategic.ly

In the interim you can use this plugin to roll back your theme update until the issue is resolved.
WP Rollback – WordPress plugin | WordPress.org.

PLEASE NOTE: Before you do this make a back up of your current site.

Is there any fix for the customize menu not working? I couldn’t find a way to rollback to a previous version of illdy (I can do that with various plugins but couldn’t see a way to do that for the theme in general). I’m completely unable to update my site at this point.

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused here.

Currently our developer is working on a fix for this issue to be released in a future update.
The issue seems to result from a conflict with some plugins so please try disabling any third party plugins you have active then check to see if the issue persists.

Hi, I’m sorry to bother you. I just wanted to know if there is an update to this? I installed the Illdy theme a few days ago and am having the same issue described here. Even after deactivating the companion plugin. Thank you.

Hi,

You can try a couple of options,

  1. Try to increase the memory allocated to PHP using these steps, Editing wp-config.php « WordPress Codex if you can’t I suggest you to contact your host and they will help you to increase it.

  2. If that didn’t fix the issue, try turn ON the WP_DEBUG in wp-config.php WP DEBUG « WordPress Codex it will make the white page to display the error that cause the white page. Pass us the Error message, so that we can tell you what exactly cause the issue.

  3. In the meantime, if the error message from step 2 is due to any plugin Try deactivate all the plugins and refresh the cache, and see the Customizer is working fine, if so try to activate the plugin one by one to find the faultly plugin,
