Broke theme - functions.php

Hi,

Broke my site trying to add in excerpt code.
“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘add_post_type_support’ (T_STRING) in /home1/ravells2/public_html/wp-content/themes/sparkling/functions.php on line 454”

I’ve removed the code and even downloaded the orginal theme to upload the function.php file however error still exists. Please advise.

I hope you are doing well today.

Please use the following plugin to create a backup of our theme:

At this point, you can delete the function.php file and then upload the replacement or you can reinstall the theme and use the backup to restore our changes.

How do I back up when I can’t access plugins via wordpress? I have FTP access…

Hello there,

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused here.

In this case, you would have to rename the theme folder (rename it something like “Old theme folder”) via FTP access and it will no longer try to read the theme files then you would then be able to access the WordPress admin panel and activate anther theme and restore the theme folder name via FTP.
