can not change home page to a static page

I activated travelify theme for an academic conference website and tried to change the home page to a static page but still always get the recent post as the home page. I have changed the setting in the theme customize section to “static page” but have no idea what is wrong. really appreciate for any help.

hi there

that’s not the theme problem, i think you have modified something in the .htaccess file and its not allowing to reach the proper homepage
