Hi. could you kindly help advise me on how to change the font color on my homepage widgets to black?

You can try achieving this by adding the following CSS code in the Custom CSS option of your theme on the below path.

Admin Area -> Appearance -> Customize -> Additional CSS

/*change font color of widget */
p{
    color:black;
}
