Customizing Parallax Widget Feature Section for FrontPage

I’ve read all the past post topics on this but there is no resolution. A suggested plugin is no longer supported.

Please offer some guidance or advice. How can I customize the text in the Feature Section for FrontPage widget? I can use CSS for text size and weight and alignment in the plain Parralax Section for FrontPage but the Feature Section one doesn’t support it. It shows the tags.

How can I adjust the text for the Feature Section for FrontPage in Shapely?

Update the Shapely-Companion plugin to the latest version, we add the parallax HTML support in it. :slight_smile:

I have the updated Shapely-Companion plugin and there is not HTML support for the columns of the Feature Section for FrontPage. I’ve tried to add code to center-align the text and I’ve tried to make new lines (by using the return button) and nothing works.

What else can I do?

Hi,

We added HTML support for parallax section alone atm, you can request that in the request section in the forum for other widgets.

For a quick fix, you can use this, http://take.ms/jp2B5 widget-home-features.php and replace that in , /wp-content/plugins/shapely-companion/inc/widgets/widget-home-features.php it will do the trick.

Thanks for the support, Laranz. I appreciate it. I will add my request for that section.

While I’m not a super coder, I can usually figure things out. Can you offer any more guidance on how to change the php info? Is that done in the editor section in Wordpress? In a different system? Any and all specifics would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You can login to the FTP and navigate to the folder, and replace that file, after that whatever you enter in the widget section in the home feature section will support HTML after that. :slight_smile:

Hi,
I have installed Shapely version 1.1.7 but I can’t find the parallax HTML support that you mention in the post. Could you please help me on how to customize Parallax Widget for Front Page? I would like to customize the text shown there and also have a video instead of a picture, is that possible?

Hi @geomedia,

  1. Make sure you installed and activated the “Shapely Companion” plugin.
  2. Go to Appearance -> Customize -> Widgets -> Homepage, there you can add a widget “[Shapely] Parralax Section For FrontPage” and customize that according to your needs.

Thanks a lot Laranz,

It’s working perfectly to format the text, but I’m not able to use video instead of a picture as a background for the text.

I’ve tried with iframe but once changes are saved, the pasted code to embed video is missing from the Parallax Content box.

I’ve also tried the video tag, but once changes are saved, the following message is shown in the Parallax Content box: “Your browser does not support the video tag.”

Any idea on how to use video instead of a picture within the Parallax Widget?

For videos you need to use [Shapely] Video Section widget. http://take.ms/op8Iv Parallax widget don’t support video as of now, you can request the feature here: https://colorlibsupport.com/t/shapely-feature-requests/
