Hi guys, also with reference to this thread and reply Colorlib post.

I followed your post but strangely it didn’t work for me when I created the social menu and also tried placeing it in the footer as widget. It just showed the text “facebook.com”. The link I made the same.

Are the social icons meant to appear elsewhere? I looked at the demo of dazzling theme and didn’t see any social icons.

I visited your site and it seems you are using custom menu widget in the footer but instead you should use Dazzling Social Widget.

Ahh, I completely missed the widget. It’s working now.

Is there a way to get the social media account to open in a new browser tab instead (ie. target="_blank")?

You can achieve this by checking the option “Open link in a new tab” in your social icons menu screen as shown in the attached screenshot.

Thanks Movin. I saw “link target” was disabled in the “screen options” of the wordpress dropdown on top, so it didn’t show this check box. All good now.
