I have quite a few of the Shapely sample/template pages left in my site that I’m not using but which are visible (I should have deleted them from my site before I made it live!). I know it’s not good practice to delete them now (for SEO), would it be best to redirect them all to my home page?
I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
You can delete the pages or simply put them in draft mode.
I you’re using Yoast SEO you can also check the no index option so the page won’t be indexed by Google.
Deleting or removing empty pages won’t affect your SEO negatively.
In fact, it does more harm to have empty pages live.
So again simply delete, set to draft or add no index option in Yoast.
Hi there
Thanks for your reply.
Is it definitely possible to ‘no index’ individual pages? I can only see options for post types, taxonomies etc?
Thanks
