Hello,

I’m an absolute beginner with Wordpress. I have installed xampp and now I’m trying to make a site using a localhost.

I have imported the shapely theme demo and widgets. I thought I would get something like on this page: https://colorlib.com/shapely/ but this is not the case. I made a screenshot, is it like this it should be?

It seems you have not configured the theme correctly on your site so please make sure to configure it as described on the following page.

Hello, and thank you for your quick reply!

maybe it has something to do with the change to a static front page, step 2 (which I didn’t do up till now).

step 3: I made a new “Front Page”, now I have 2 “Front Pages”
Then I set it as a homepage, I tried both “Front Pages”, no change in layout.

Step 4:“Enable Custom Content Types by clicking on “Configure””
Where do I find this “Configure”
I cannot find it, does it has something to do with the following message: " Currently in Development Mode because your site URL lacks a dot (e.g. http://localhost).
Some features are disabled."?

Step 5: I can wait with that for the moment,…

Please delete duplicate front page and configure all things again from the start using that single front page.

I am also using Jetpack plugin locally but can see the settings as shown in the attached screenshots so please make sure you are configuring the things correctly.

When going to jetpack settings, I get this screen:

I just visited my site, and it turns out that I’m having the demo theme layout! This means I have no further problems with this issue. I suppose finding out why jetpack settings are not having the same layout as yours, could be for another topic :wink:
