Demo XML import fails

I’ve installed the theme successfully. However, when I get stuck on step 2 of the documentation. I’ve tried uploading the XML with the demo content, it displays a page saying oops, this page cannot be found and nothing has changed on the site. I tried a couple of different ways and I cannot move past this step.

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

Could you please try temporary using any default WordPress theme like Twenty Sixteen and import the demo content then after successfully importing the demo content again activate the Shapely theme?

I tried your suggestion with two different themes but the upload still fails in the same way. It never gets to the point where it shows the import list, it just redirects to the following URL: http://c-alma.com/wp-admin/admin.php?import=wordpress&step=2. The title on this page is “Oops! That page can’t be found.”

Please advise.

Would you mind if i log in to your site and do some troubleshooting? If this is ok then could you please share me your site log in details privately by checking the option “Set as private reply” when replying to this topic?

Please also share me the XML demo file that you are trying to import.

It has been set to Admin so you should be able to do whatever you need.

Thank you for sharing the site details.

I just logged in to your site and confirmed the issue so i just temporary activated the default WordPress Twenty Fifteen theme and imported the demo content on your site then reactivated the Shapely theme.

Hi Movin, I have the same problem. I have also tried temporarily activating the Twenty Fifteen theme then re-importing, but I still get redirected to the “Oops! That page can’t be found.” page.
