Do I need to update?

I am prompted to update Wordpress to version 4.9.6. Do I have to update Illdy & the Illdy Companion plugin before updating Wordpress?

I currently have Illdy version 2.0.5. The Illdy Companion is version 2.0.5 as well. They both ask to update to version 2.1.1

The reason I ask is because I read that people sometimes experience problems after updating Illdy, so I’m a little nervous. Everything is working perfectly for me right now, but should I still update both before updating to Wordpress version 4.9.6?

The update is always necessary, create a backup and update everything you are looking for is asking for an update
