dropmenu color/ title background color

Hello there!

I am very new to blogging and I am trying my best but I do not have lots of computer skills, unfortunately.
My website is http://www.thewandersofmarty.com , I am using Travelify theme and I have few problems I cannot solve:

  1. Title: I managed to change the font/style of the title downloading a plug in BUT is there a way to change the background color BEHIND the title only? ( which is white now)

2)Is there a way to change the colour of the drop down menu? I managed to change the hover color, but can’t change the basic colour ( to be clearer, I am fine with the white of SYDNEY and HOME etc, but I’d like to modify the color of FOODIE’S PLEASURES/ LET’s DO SOMETHING etc but I am fine with the light blue hover color!).sorry, hope I made myself clear! :slight_smile:

3)I created Categories to add posts to. When clicking on FOODIE’s PLEASURE from the drop menu for example, it opens the page showing all the related posts to that category. Ok, now how do I change the color of the category’s title FOODIE’s PLEASURES on that page? If I change the color from the drop menu ( problem 2 above), will it change automatically also here?

Thank you so much for all the help!!!

martina

Hi Martina,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your questions.

1) Title: I managed to change the font/style of the title downloading a plug in BUT is there a way to change the background color BEHIND the title only? ( which is white now)

You can try achieving this by adding the following CSS code in the Custom CSS option of your theme on the below path.

Admin Area -> Appearance -> Customize -> Travelify Other Options

#branding {
    background: #E8F9FC;
}
#branding h1#site-title {
    background: #E8F9FC;
}

You can change the color value in the above code to whatever you want to use by referring the following pages.

http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_colorvalues.asp
http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_colorpicker.asp

2)Is there a way to change the colour of the drop down menu? I managed to change the hover color, but can’t change the basic colour ( to be clearer, I am fine with the white of SYDNEY and HOME etc, but I’d like to modify the color of FOODIE’S PLEASURES/ LET’s DO SOMETHING etc but I am fine with the light blue hover color!).sorry, hope I made myself clear! :-)

You can try changing it using the following CSS code as described above.

#main-nav ul li ul li a {
    color: #9F5DE2;
}

You can change it using the following CSS code.

body.archive.category h3.page-title {
    color: #9F5DE2;
}

Hi Movin,
one additional question for changing color in sub-menu (Point 2.):
your solution works fine for text-color, but how can I change the background-color of any sub-menus?

Thanks in advance.
Dirk

Hi Dirk,

You can try changing it by using the following CSS code.

body #main-nav ul li ul li a {
    background: #cfcfcf;
}

Movin
