Error 500 message

I was making changes to my blog using the Activello theme and got the http error 500 message and can no longer access my site. I contacted my server, Bluehost, and they said it is a problem with the theme. They reset the theme to default but when I went to activate it again, I got the same error message. Please let me know what I need to do as I was hoping to go live with my site asap!

Hello there,

I hope you are doing well today.

Did you add any new code to the theme? You would have to remove any new code that you added to the theme because the code may be the cause of this issue.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I originally changed the footer code in editor mode but when it didn’t change anything I just added the original code back and from there on I got the error message. My host service, bluehost, said they reset the theme to default and to install and activate it again. I thought that would have solved the problem, but as soon as I press activate I get the same error message unfortunately. What do you suggest I try next?

Actually I was able to back my way into it by deleting the theme and re-installing it and then activating it. So I am good to go. Thanks!
