Exclude one post category from showing on homepage

Hi!
I’m aiming to share some documents to registered users (I use the Ultimate Member plugin). As I understand, the plugin is not working with the Shapely theme in a way that I could restrict posts to certain user groups.

But the thing could work throught the post categories? I was thinking to do Docs-category that I would use for publishing the restricted material – but how to make that category Not to show on my Homepage under recent posts? Thank you for helping out!

I hope you are doing well today.

The Recent Posts widget provided with the Shapely theme does not have an option to exclude any post categories so you would have to use a third party plugin to replace that widget or simply remove the widget and use another one in its stead.
