Exclude Post from Main Page

Hello-

Just getting started using WordPress for the first time, so maybe I’m missing an obvious solution.

Is there a way to exclude certain posts from showing up on the main page? Or to possible make it so that only posts with a certain tag show up on the main page?

I would like all posts to still show up when viewing “Category” pages.

There are no such option in WordPress and you should either implement some custom coding via get_posts function or use some plugin such as this one.
