In order to have better control of what the slider displays I created a category called “slider”. This way I can select what I want to show in the slider. Now the issue I have is I do not want this category visible under the post titles on the home page or on any pages/posts that have this category. Is there a way to hide this one specific category from showing anywhere?
You can see the the categry listed on the home page frankandmeredith.com (MEXICO SLIDER VACATION) under the post Sink hole swimming: Cenotes! and also under the actual post under the title https://frankandmeredith.com/cenotes/ .
I have a child theme with a custom functions php but have yet to be able to figure this out correctly. Any help would be appreciated.
I am having the same problem, would love it gone from both the slider and the posts on the home page as well!

You can try removing this from the post listings pahe by using the attached custom child theme of Activello theme that contains some custom code.
To remove it from other places you will have to develop more custom code.
Developing custom code for custom functionality is beyond the scope of support that we provide here.
