on Ubuntu 14.06, PHP 5.5

The PHP version 5.5 is outdated as described on this page http://php.net/supported-versions.php so please update the PHP version on your web host tot latest version.
If still the issue persists then use the latest version of shapely theme by downloading it from the below page.
