Featured image size & blurry

Ive been trying to read the forums but can’t get a definite answer, at least to my understanding.

Two problems:

1 - Some of my featured images come out blurry - eg.

http://thegoodquestion.pl/czemu-warto-byc-egoista/

2 - the other problem, i’d like the featured images to be by default cropped/resized to a 2:1 ratio like some of the other themes do. How can I ensure this? My slider looks strange because of this.

Edit: ok i did the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin - but i still want the theme to show them all in the same dimensions, at least with the slider it’s not functioning properly still.
