Footer Copyright statement - automatically update date

Hi,

I’ve been advised that it should be possible to have the Copyright date automatically update in the Footer of

One suggestion was :
"editing the actual PHP template and manually adding;

<?php echo date(“Y”); ?>"

Any comments before I try it? Or is there a better way?

Yes, you can try that code but be aware your changes must be made in child theme and if you don’t have enough experience use plugin or different solution
