Formatting in back end - not showing front end.

Hi there

I have just encountered a problem I can’t seem to rectify.

My site had the following URL/folder. The folder name was case sensitive. - https://www.pm2-workbench.com/StopTheWorldCafe.

I spoke to my hosting company for advice on how to make this case insensitive so that - https://www.pm2-workbench.com/stoptheworldcafe - would work. I tried this solution - Case Insensitive Permalinks Plugin for WordPress – unFocus Projects – Kevin Newman and Ken Newman - which didn’t work.

I called them and was on the phone for a few hours. They were very friendly and helpful.

They managed to change the folder name so it read - https://www.pm2-workbench.com/stoptheworldcafe. However in doing so they caused issues which i am unable to recover from.

The site looks liek it is rendered properly with CSS but all teh formatting information present in teh widgets no longer affects the front end of the site. Also when I then try to change the formatting in a widget there is no effect.

Maybe some sort of reference/pointing is still referring to https://www.pm2-workbench.com/StopTheWorldCafe (e.g. title case) and not https://www.pm2-workbench.com/stoptheworldcafe.

Could you advise please.

I will send a private message with login details.

Good morning Pablo

this is what i see on your domain:

Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /StopTheWorldCafe/ on this server.

I don’t think this is a teme problem

on the second domain site is loading but you have a problem with the site origin plugin, their files are not loading and generate 404 error, all theme files are loading

Can you tell me what is your goal?..

Hi Noda

Thanks for taking a look.]

Try - https://www.pm2-workbench.com/stoptheworldcafe (e.g no upper case).

Yes all formatting from SiteOrigin widgets isn’t working and no matter what i do i can’t reformat the site.

So my goal . . .

Discovering what has broken and fixing it so that all the work that has gone into the site is live again. Presumably some sort of link/reference has broken when the site path changed from - https://www.pm2-workbench.com/StopTheWorldCafe - to - https://www.pm2-workbench.com/stoptheworldcafe.

At this stage trying to reformat any widget isn’t working so I need to find a way to disocover what has broken and fix it.

Thanks for your help!

Hello,

I hope you are doing well today.

If you changed the url on the site then go to Settings > General and change the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) to that of the new url.

Also resetting the permalinks can work too, go to Settings > Permalinks, change the permalink setting, save the changes then select the original and save once more.

Best Regards,
Support

Hi there

Thank you for this.

Permalinks - I did this last night, it didn’t work

Settings (WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) ) - are both set to the new non capitalised address - http://www.pm2-workbench.com/stoptheworldcafe (changed last night. Still not working.

Sorry that these haven’t worked . . . .

Good evening

pablo i did check both domains, please see my previous reply, you have a problem with the site origin plugin and not with the theme, you have to deal with the site origin plugin
