Front page sidebar

Hi, just installed this theme to my website. The sidebar on the Home page is appearing underneath the main text. I tried changing it from right side bar to left side bar (just to see what would happen) The main text shifts over but sidebar still appears under text.

Help please ?

Hi @needlegirl,

I hope you are well today and thanks for posting here.

I visited your shared site to troubleshoot the issue but it seems you are not using Activello theme on your shared site.

Please advise.

Kind Regards,
Movin

Hi Movin, thanks for reply. I tinkered with the theme & ended up having to delete it in order to get back into my admin oops. My fault for being impatient, not the theme which is beautful btw.

I ended up installing something else that seemed to work better ‘off the peg’ so to speak. Hope I’ve not wasted your time.

Can I just say, I read a lot of posts on this forum & you guys offer fantastic support plus you are friendly and incredibly patient.

Many thanks ?

You are most welcome here :slight_smile:

Please advise if you have more questions.

Have a fantastic day!

Hi Movin,
I’m having the same issue that needlegirl was having. Please check out my page and let me know what’s wrong. www.digitaldatingcoach.com I selected “Right Sidebar” under Activello customization and also the page, I selected right side bar. When I’m in the customization page and select , right, left, full-width, etc, the live previews all look the same…

@asnqt913

I have tested it on my test site and it’s working fine for me using latest version of Activello theme.

This can be child theme issue on your site so to confirm it just temporary use the Activello theme instead of child theme on your site. If everything works fine then it’s your child theme issue so just share me your child theme so that i can troubleshoot it.

Regards,
Movin

It was doing the same thing before I added the child theme but see attached child theme anyway.

I used your shared child theme and found it’s not the child theme issue but the parent theme issue which only occurs when we set static page as front page.

I have notified this issue to the theme developer so that it will be fixed.

In the meanwhile you can fix this issue by editing the parent Activello theme file content-page.php and remove the following code from it on line number 25

    <?php
      // Checks if this is homepage to enable homepage widgets
      if ( is_front_page() ) :
        get_sidebar( 'home' );
      endif;
    ?>

That worked. Thanks so much! :slight_smile:

You are most welcome here :slight_smile:

Hi Movin,
I appear to have the same issue (sidebar at the bottom) and I do not use a child theme, nor is my front page static. I normally use Firefox browser, however, I tried it in Edge browser and it works as it should, with the sidebar on the right. Is that something you are aware of? Is there anything I can/need to do or is it something that would have to be fixed in the theme?
Thanks very much, Jenia

@Jenia This is old topic and the issue is fixed in the theme so To help us keep support thread separates could you please create your own thread for your question here https://colorlibsupport.com/c/activello/ instead of replying on others thread as it makes the thread messy and hard to read.

If you want to you can also add reference of this thread in your newly created thread.

We would be more than happy to help you on your new thread.
