Gallery only showing shortcode

Hi there - Theme is nice, thanks for making it.

I’m trying to use the Wordpress built in gallery in a static front page. I’ve added a couple pictures, but I’m only getting the shortcode show up inside the page. For example, all I’m seeing right now is : [gallery type=“slideshow” link=“file” ids=“17,9”]
