Header Image Covered with Minimized Browser

Since I wanted to have different header pictures on each page, I put the header image links in the header.php file. It works great except when the brower is minimized a little bit but not enough to view the mobile version of the site. When it is at that width, the header image becomes covered up by the navigation at the top. Is there a way ensure that image is pushed down? Or, is there a better way to have different header image on different pages of the site?
