I noticed that there is an update for the unite theme, and so I went to the Appearance menu, clicked on the
Unite Theme which shows active status and has a customize button on the right side. I clicked on that and right after, I got this message: Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Customize_Manager::add_panel() in /home/kayala/public_html/domains/rashmirao/wordpress/wp-content/themes/unite/inc/customizer.php on line 34
To make sure, I redid the install via FTP as suggested in the unite theme documentation folder and followed the direction but it still shows the same error. I am unable to update the unite theme. Please help me resolve this issue!

I have tested it on my test site and it’s working fine for me using latest version 2.0.2 of Unite theme.
Which version of Unite theme are you using?
Is the customizer working fine on your site using default WordPress theme like Twenty Sixteen?
