How to change blog index settings

Hi.
At first, I have to thank you for this great theme and also for the great support. I am using Shapely theme on WordPress. http://ny.ebrius.se
I would like to change the blog index page (posts index page) to be JUST squares of featured images with the title and a one liner text. Like a clean version where you only see one line text and the pics to click to go to the blogs, (I have tried all the theme options (grid only, large Image and Grid and Large Images) for the post page and nothing seems to make a difference). I also like to have a READ MORE below all posts like the one you have in Activello theame.

Can you please advise me how to do this?
Thank you. // Lajla

Hey there,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

Here’s the CSS that will remove, everything else except the title and category on the blog index page.

/*minimal blog CSS*/
.blog .entry-meta, .blog li, .blog p{
  display:none;
}

See Screenshot for the result on demo site.

Best regards,
Support.

Thank you,
The CSS didn’t work for it. http://ny.ebrius.se/recept/page/2/ I only got the one line text on one blogpost. I also like to have a READ MORE below all posts like the one you have in Activello theame.

Do you know how to fix it please?
Thank you so much. Lajla

Hey there

  1. you dont need css to have “2 line text” (title and excerpts) for blog posts, you just need to properly use “read more” tag of WordPress to break your text, please see this link and utilize this method, this is built in WordPress function
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/
    http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-properly-use-the-more-tag-in-wordpress/
  2. read more button - sorry but for this theme, this is not possible to have, customization is necessary to achieve this goal

Perfect, that worked! Thanks so much for your help, really appreciate it.
This forum is really great. Lajla
