In my widget of “recent posts” I don’t like the way it displays the date.
I’d like for it to show month day, year
Example: November 12, 2017
Can this be edited somewhere or do I need additional CSS?

That doesn’t help as my settings are fine and my blog posts show the date correctly that way.
I want my widget named “recent posts” to also show the date that way but I can not find a place to edit it.

You can try achieving this by using the attached small plugin specially developed for you that contains some custom code.
The attached plugin will create new widget ‘Custom Activello Recent Posts Widget’ that you have to use in sidebar.
