How to edit the 404 page?

Is there a way to edit the standard 404 page? I know there’s the “colorlib customizer” plugin. But I don’t want any of these designs.

Access to the standard 404 page would be fine for me. What I would like to customise is text and don’t want a search function. Just a link back to home page would be nice.

Sorry, there is no straightforward way to edit 404 page, you either need a third party plugin or customization of the theme files
