How to remove the background color on hover links?

Hi,

I am using Activello with a child theme. I’d like my links not to have a background-color when hovered over - just to change to another color on hover. I edited style.css in my child theme but I cannot get it to change on my site. I cleared my CSS minify cache, I even tried adjusting my original style.css sheet on my Activello theme. Still nothing. Because I currently have my links set to green while they’re hovered, and can’t remove the background-color, they end up unreadable. I also tried removing the “accent color” and it just reverted back to bright purple, which I don’t want. I just want NO background color on hover! Please advise, thanks.

You can try achieving this by adding the following CSS code in the Custom CSS option of your theme on the below path.

Admin Area -> Appearance -> Customize -> Additional CSS

    background-color: transparent !important;
}
