I have not been able to upload any jpg since switching to Shapely. I have had a few people at Fiverr try to fix the error on the server (1and1) and they have not been able to resolve it. Are there any settings within the code for this theme that may be affecting file uploads (any file larger than 2mb even though any file is affected). The file uploads, but it is broken and is not recognized by WP. Any ideas?

I have tested it on my test site and it’s working fine for me using latest version of Shapely theme.

No the theme does not contain any such code.
Is it working fine for you using default WordPress theme like Twenty Fifteen?
This can be due to plugin conflict on your site so please try temporary deactivating all plugins and see whether everything works fine and then enable the plugins one by one to see which plugin is conflicting if any.
