Hi–
Just got started with WP / Shapely and having some issues with my homepage layout. I added my own picture (instead of the Shapely default waves picture), but it’s a different shape than the default (taller than it is wide).
I want to increase the height of the first parallax section so that it shows the entire picture instead of cutting off the top and bottom. For some reason, despite my attempts at finding solutions online and messing around with adding additional css, I have not been able to do this seemingly simple thing.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

hey there
Well, the problem is not in the theme or in css, you want to display a portrait image in the full-width parallax section, of course, you can do this but you can’t get good results, the image will be always cut at the top and the bottom, parallax sections are good only for wider images

Hi Noda,
Thanks for your response! I understand why given the current dimensions of the parallax section it would be suited for landscape / wider images as opposed to portrait, but it feels like in theory it should work the same way if the height / size of the entire section were to be increased (with the full-width parameter remaining), such that the entire portrait image could fit into the chunk. Or am I thinking about it incorrectly?
Good evening
Sorry but no, it will not work like that, all you need for this case is a proper image, just rotate your camera and take a new picture of this lovely cat
