Insert link to disclaimer into footer

Hello there!
Thank you for the best theme and best support ever!
Sorry for bothering you again, but I’ve stumbled at a question I cannot solve myself.

My site is www.cosmetiqua.com

I would like to add a link to my legal disclaimer required by German law into my footer.

I would like it to say “Impressum und Datenschutz” and those words being linked to:
https://cosmetiqua.com/index.php/impressum-und-datenschutzerklarung/

I don’t mind leaving your standard “Activello Theme by Colorlib Powered by WordPress” there as well, though would be nice if my “Impressum und Datenschutz” came first.

I went to Customize>Footer, but it doesn’t seem to be possible to insert links there, they all appear as long ugly text without actually linking.

I also tried searching your forum for solutions and found an answer pointing to some previous answer with child themes. Tried implementing it, but it did nothing for my site.

Also tried editing the
/**

  • function to show the footer info, copyright information
    */
    part of extras.php, my site stopped working all together after that, as I probably made some mistake there.

Can you please advise me on how I can achieve my goal?

Oh, and forgot to add, since it might be relevant, I am already running a child theme for activello.

You can insert it by using child theme solution shared in the following topic or merge that child theme code with your existing child theme.
