I’m trying to use the “Custom Sidebars” plugin to create a sidebar for my static front page. After reading through this thread, I’m wondering if the Activello theme is missing some call it needs in order to make the plugin work?
I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
You don’t have to use that plugin to display sidebar on your static front page.
Just make sure to use latest version of Activello theme by downloading it from this page https://github.com/puikinsh/activello and select proper layout for the front page as shown in the attached screenshot.
That helped - now the sidebar is showing up. Unfortunately, instead of showing up on the right side, as it’s supposed to, it’s appearing underneath the pictures on the page. In the Screenshot the “Founder” bit is the start of the sidebar.
Have you made sure to use latest version of Activello theme by downloading it from this page https://github.com/puikinsh/activello and select proper layout for the front page as shown in the above shared screenshot?
I updated my theme and it’s working now. However the sidebar is so wide, I don’t like how it looks with the other homepage content. Is there anyway to resize just the sidebar on the homepage to make it narrower?
