Hello. I already use your great theme on one website and would like to now use it on another, for a friend. However, I’m wondering if it’s possible to increase the depth of the header area, as my friend wants to use a logo that is bigger than the header space that seems to be available on Sparkling. What happens if I upload a header image/logo that is larger than the space appears to be? Does it resize automatically or what? I’m sorry if this question has been asked before - I have searched but cannot find anything on it!

There is no max-size set for header image and size you see at the beginning is recommended size but you can use bigger image than that. The only limit is content width which is 1170px.
Just test a large image to see how it works. Adjust image size while cropping image and make it as big as you want.
