menu bar and footer

Hey!
I am new to this and have a couple more questions.

  1. How do I make the menu bar thinner?
  2. How do I get rid of the search bar but keep the search icon in the menu?
  3. I looked at previous questions and was able to remove the footer “theme by colorlib powered by wordpress…” but in doing so my © 2017 A pinch of Austria also disappeared. Is there a way I can tweek the code and remove only the Colorlib powered by wordpress? I used this code before:
    #colophon .copyright {
    display: none;
    }

Thank you!

Hi @nathalie,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your questions.

1. How do I make the menu bar thinner?

You can try achieving this by adding the following CSS code in the Custom CSS option of your theme on the below path.

Admin Area -> Appearance -> Customize -> Activello Options -> Other -> Custom CSS

.nav-search,
.navbar-default .navbar-nav> li> a {
    padding: 10px 0;
}
2. How do I get rid of the search bar but keep the search icon in the menu?

Use the below custom CSS code to achieve this.

.nav-search input {
    display: none;
}
3. I looked at previous questions and was able to remove the footer “theme by colorlib powered by wordpress..” but in doing so my © 2017 A pinch of Austria also disappeared. Is there a way I can tweek the code and remove only the Colorlib powered by wordpress?

You can try achieving this by using the custom child theme solution posted in the following topic.
