Menus links on Blog Page

Hi,
Thanks for such a great template.

I started with a static front page and recently added a blog page. On the static front page all my menu items are linked to lower on the page. For example, if you click on the “about me” menu item it takes you down the page to that widget, which is great. In order to do this I entered code under the “URL link” box when I created the menu item. For example, “#shapely_home_parallax-7

Now that I’ve started a blog, all the same menu items at the top of my static front page show up on my blog. The problem is that on the blog all of a sudden the menu items when clicked, now link to blog/#shapely_home_parallax-7, which is a problem because that link doesn’t exist.

2 Questions:

  1. Is it possible not to have the menus on the blog page?

  2. Alternatively, and a better solution: how do I maintain the links so that on the blog menu the “about me” links to the same place it linked to on the front page?

Front Page

Blog
http://qi-bodywork.com/blog/

Thanks in advance,

adam

Hey there,
I hope you’re doing well today

For the menu times, try using the entire URL in the custom menu item.

Instead of #shapely_home_parallax-7. Use http://qi-bodywork.com/blog/#shapely_home_parallax-7
This should carry you from the blog page to the home page.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t solve the problem.

If you go to the front page, www.qi-bodywork.com, the menus link perfectly well. The problem is once you go to the blog, the menus stop working and linking, because they add /blog to each link. if you click on the menu items on the blog they don’t take you anywhere.

thanks,
Adam

wait, no I think i fixed it.

instead of www.qi-bodywork.com/blog/#shapely_home_parallax-7 in the custom menu URL, i put
www.qi-bodywork/#shapely_home_parallax-7 and it seems to link now directly to that point on the front page.

Out of interest is there any way to have the menus only on the front page and not on the blog page?

Hello there,

You can use the following CSS code to remove the menu from the blog page only by going to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and pasting it there.

/*Remove menu from blog page*/
.blog .menu {
    display: none;
}
