I have a slight problem. I am sure that it’s something very simple that I am just missing. But The sidebar on my blog page is missing?

Not sure where you have made mistake but it appears that you have broken down index.php template. Make sure to download a clean one from WordPress.org
If this doesn’t help as there could be some other mistakes, try to reinstall theme completely. Changed done via Theme Options will still be there. Reinstall will replace ony files that you have modified and nothing else.
For theme file modifications always use Child Theme. You can download a sample Sparkling Child theme here.
