Was wondering if the possibility to move front-page-section is implemented somewhere.
I don’t mind diving into the code to do this if I have to.
If this is the case, could you point me in the right direction of the file.

This would not be possible because the section is setup to use the frontpage.
However here are a few plugins that can help you to change the look of pages:
