Pages do not update and don't show comments

Since the last theme update I have noticed the following problems:

  1. If I make changes on a Page the only way the updates will be accepted is if I do them in TEXT. If I make one change and update, it removes all the previous changes which I then have to do again.

  2. I have checked the “allow comments” and “allow trackbacks and pingbacks” boxes but the Page does not show the “add a comment” when viewed. I have tried checking the “allow comments” box only but still no change

Hi @tony121,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your questions.

1. If I make changes on a Page the only way the updates will be accepted is if I do them in TEXT. If I make one change and update, it removes all the previous changes which I then have to do again.

Do you mean the changes made in the page in visual mode of editor doesn’t get saved?

Is it happening for all pages or for any specific page?

I have tested it on my test site and it’s working fine for me using latest version of Sparkling theme.

This can be due to plugin conflict on your site so please try temporary deactivating all plugins and see whether everything works fine and then enable the plugins one by one to see which plugin is conflicting if any.

2. I have checked the “allow comments” and “allow trackbacks and pingbacks” boxes but the Page does not show the “add a comment” when viewed. I have tried checking the “allow comments” box only but still no change

please make sure that you have enabled the comments for pages in your theme by checking the theme option “Display Comments on Static Pages?” on the following path as shown in the attached screenshot.

Admin Area -> Appearance -> Customize -> Activello Options -> Content Options

Hi Movin

Thanks so much for the very prompt response.

Your suggestion to fix the comments on the Pages worked perfectly - thank you

I have already tried disabling the plugins with no result but I will try again. The problem happens with all pages but let me try the plugin route again and if no progress I will let you know.

Best regards
Tony

You are welcome
