Parallax section background image incorrectly placed

Hi! I’m using Shapely over at http://www.fannysoderstrom.com/ and having a small issue.

I’m using the Code Embed & Widget Logic plugins to run a script which displays a video hosted on a public broadcaster website.

However it actually populates the video div after the next “parralax” section has loaded its background image, so once the site is loaded, the background of shapely_home_parallax-11 is incorrectly placed. All I have to do is resize the window, and it pops back to its correct place.

Is there an easy fix, even something like like a script I can run to force the page resize mechanism to run once the page is loaded?

Thanks

Hey there

Thank you for the question
Where can I see mentioned widget on your website? its not on the homepage

Thank you for your quick answer!

Yes, this is taking place on the home page, with two instances of [Shapely] Parralax Section FrontPage

The videos section is shapely_home_parallax-12, and the bottom video here is the one I think causing the issue.

The next section, shapely_home_parallax-11, which I am using to present a quote, is the one with the background image issue.

I hope that’s clear! Thanks

I’m writing again with a clearer example of the problem.

This is how the first full screen image section (shapely_home_parallax-8) looks when the page is first loaded:

Now I go to the top News section (shapely_home_parallax-14), and open (for example) the second news article which is longer than the first one which is open by default.

If I scroll back down to shapely_home_parallax-8, it now looks like this:

The positions of the background images are not responding to the change in size of the news div. As soon as i resize the window, everything returns to its proper place.

If I open a different article once again, this occurs.

Once again I can fix by resizing the window.

It seems to affect only the background images in the widget [Shapely] Parralax Section Frontpage.

Thanks for your assistance!

Hi there

Yes, i can confirm now i see the problem, but this is a conflict with the third-party plugin if you deactivate the plugin do you have this problem? when we open/close articles in the tabs this height of the page is resized and that’s making the problem

Hi,

Thanks for your answer. If i deactivate the plugin, then I have no news section at all - so it is true that it is in a way caused by interaction with the plugin.

The reason I think it’s theme related, is that it occurs when I use ANY plugin that creates dynamically sized content.

Returning to my original query. If you load the page and scroll down just below the video section, it appears like this:

and after a quick resize, it appears as it should:

In this case, it’s because the last video in the video section is loaded through the Code Embed & Widget Logic plugins, which dynamically sizes the container div for the video.

All other content on the page repositions itself correctly with the dynamic content, except the parallax background images, and it’s not related to one specific plugin, but anything that creates variable sized content.

HI

Sorry, but that’s what we call conflict with third-party plugins and such conflicts can not be resolved under free support police scope, :frowning: understanding your frustration but it’s not possible to support compatibility and proper functionality with every plugin, you have to find different plugin or find freelancer who can fix this
