I only see the “Popular Posts” widget, but i want to replace the standard wp “recent posts” widget with a sparkling one, but the sparkling theme only offers the “Popular Posts” widget, how can i modify or create a “Recent Posts” widget in the sparkling format/style with the thumbnails?

You can achieve this by using the attached small plugin specially developed for you that provides you the widget ‘Sparkling Recent Posts Widget’ which can be used to display the recent posts in the widget area similar to the format/style with the thumbnails like “Popular Posts” widget.
