I was wondering if there is a way to either set a specific featured on the portfolio archive page, or alternatively to remove the featured image?

While there isn’t a way to set a specific image within the theme, however, if you could provide me with a link to your portfolio archive page, I should be able to provide you with some CSS that could either replace it or remove it.
