HI, i want to remove the copyright text from the footer of unite and add my own info and links preferably using some CSS to try keep the plugin count down but would use any method to achieve my goal.

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
You can remove the copyright text from the footer of unite theme by editing the text entered in the theme option “Footer information” on the following path as shown in the attached screenshot.
Admin Area -> Appearance -> Unite Options -> Footer
To display links in the footer you can create a navigation menu having those links and set its Theme locations to “Footer Links”.

The path you show does not exist on my install, to get the same path its Admin Area -> Appearance -> customise -> Unite Options -> Footer.
But the text editing area lets me add to the footer but not remove the unite and wordpress links already there.
What i want is total removal of any copyright or links and in its place my own links.
