Removing the menu square box (when in page and hovering).

Hi there, excellent everything but I’m going bonkers trying to figure out how to hide/remove the box that appears on the menu item you are hovering or in the page you are in. I just want a simple change of font colour., no box.
White font as it is now and when when hover a slight grey, no box.

Help please!!
