First let me say what an outstanding theme “Sparkling” is. I would like to enhance the appearance by installing a rotating header slideshow. On other websites I have installed a plugin called Meteor Slides to do this:
Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to work in Sparkling.
Please advise how I can resolve this issue.

Hi @supertrooper ,
I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.
You can use theme builtin slider as displayed on this demo site https://colorlib.com/sparkling/
You can create it as described in the following page in the section “Set up Homepage Featured Slider”.

Hello there,
I hope you are doing well today.
That plugin does not seem to be updated to work with WordPress 4.9, please try using the following instead:

The best slider, gallery, and carousel plugin for WordPress. Responsive and easy to use with images, videos, post feed, products, and layers.

Hello There
I have installed ML Slider and created a slide show. It has given me the following code to insert in the theme:
<?php echo do_shortcode('[metaslider id="153764"]'); ?>
My question is into which file and where in the file the code should be inserted?
Should I make a insert into a copy of header.php placed in the child theme?
Please advise.

Yes you should add it in the header.php placed in the child theme in whatever place you want to display it.
This worked perfectly.
Thanks for the great support.
