Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.
This can be due to plugin conflict on your site so please try temporary deactivating all plugins and see whether everything works fine and then enable the plugins one by one to see which plugin is conflicting if any.

I tried deactivating my plugins but it didn’t work. I also tried installing the WP Extended Search plugin but it didn’t work either. Is there any other way i can fix this? thanks for your help!
Same for me… http://squirmypopple.com/. I only started having this problem after the most recent update to the theme.
I could confirm the issue on my test site therefore notified the theme developer about this so that it will be fixed.
The issue will be fixed ASAP.
In the meanwhile you can try resolving the issue by using the attached modified Activello theme that contains fix for the issue.

I have reported the issue below and it is resolved in the theme but it will become available for you when it will be uploaded and approved on WP.org so you have to wait for some time.
In the meanwhile to fix it you can use shared modified activello theme or if you are using child theme then just copy search.php file from shared activello theme and add it in your child theme directory.
