Shapely on WordPress 4.6

Dear Support,

I installed shapely under WP 4.5.3 and worked fine. Now I tried to install under WP 4.6, both on localhost (XAMPP) and my hosting server (bluehost).

In localhost I get the following message when I try to activate the theme:
Warning: POST Content-Length of 2168739 bytes exceeds the limit of 2097152 bytes in Unknown on line 0
Are you sure you want to do this?

In my hosting server I get an internal error 500 as soon as I activate the theme.

All I get is an error_log inside wp-admin directory with the following message:
PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[’ in …/wp-content/themes/shapely/inc/widgets/widget-home-clients.php on line 65.

Could you please try using latest version of Shapely theme by downloading it from the below page?

Thanks for the reply.
I downloaded the shapely-master.zip from github. Still the same error in both servers.
I deactivated ALL plugins, then tried again; still the same…

This error occurs on older version of PHP so either update your PHP version to latest one or use the solution posted in the following reply to resolve it.

Ok, I replaced [’’] with ‘’ inside /wp-content/themes/shapely/inc/widgets/widget-home-clients.php file (2 occurrences). That seems to solve the problem. Thanks!
