Sidebar not showing after server move

Hi,

A few weeks ago I migrated our WP install from one server to another. Since this, all widget data now does not appear to be linked to any pages (previously built pages are now showing the default view for the template as if there were no widgets added).

When trying to add a new widget, the editor states that “Your theme has 2 other widget areas, but this particular page doesn’t display it”. This is using the exact same template that the page used on the previous server.

Are there perhaps any database entries that may be outdated (I did notice when doing the migration, some menu items with custom links updated from www.domain.com/page to www.ipaddress.com/page - perhaps there is a DB table with the same issue?).

Thanks

Hi there

Hope you are having a good day and thank you for your question
Most probably database data was not fully migrated if you already moved your files use this plugin for database migration (plugin will generate a database for your new url)

Thanks!

Hi,

Were you suggesting the use of a specific plugin, as I can’t see that you have linked one here?

Thanks

Good evening

My fault, sorry, i forgot to paste url of the plugin:

Hi,

After looking at the plugin, I don’t think this is suitable for our requirements as we no longer have access to the old, working version of the site to migrate from again (currently just have the Wordpress files and a dump of the SQL DB).

If you know which database entries might be incorrect, I can update these manually?

Thanks again,
Kyle

Hello Kyle

Sorry but no, I don’t have such information
In this case, you need to create and adjust sidebars once again from scratch

Hi,

My problem with that though is that the sidebars don’t exist on the builder page template anymore by the looks of things. When I edit a page via the customer (either a previously existing one, or a new one) the page does not load the widget area ("Your theme has 2 other widget areas but this particular page doesn’t display them).

How can I make these pages active for widgets again?

Thanks,
Kyle

good evening

Ok, let me check it, please use this plugin to create temporary access for us, its automatic login link and does not requires sharing your admin details. here is How To guide. at the and don’t forget about  “Set as private reply” at the bottom of the message box

Hi,

Apologies for the delay with this. Please see the link below.

Good morning

Can you tell me how and where to replicate your problem?
i went in the dashboard and tried appearance > customize > homepage widgets are all there, there is no problem in the widgets, check the screenshot

Hi,

Thanks for the update. The issue is actually on any page except the homepage. Sorry for not making that clear.

Thanks

Good morning

Sorry but this is normal, this page builder widgets are designed to work only on homepage :frowning:

Hi,

Can you explain in that case both how we managed to have widgets on these pages before the server move, and what the purpose of the builder page (which contains sections for sidebars) template is?

Thanks

Good evening

Sorry, but I can’t explain this what I know for sure is that widgets from the customizer are working only on the homepage and not for inner pages. Have you modified this theme? probably it was modified and then you lost these changes during the migration?
