Site does not support widget

I’ve followed the instructions for importing the demo content, however, when I import the widget I receive error messages of: Site does not support widget
the home page does not look anything like the demo.
someone else had this problem and indicated they forgot to select the theme, I have the shapely theme selected as my website theme

Hi,

You need to install this plugin: Shapely Companion – WordPress plugin | WordPress.org ( Due to WordPress theme restrict, we need to add widget functionality in a separate plugin ) After installing the theme, go to Appearance -> About Shapely -> Recommended Actions, and do the recommend actions, before doing the import work. It will do the trick.
