I am using the travelify theme with the home page slider.

Is there a way to have the slider do a lazy load so that it doesn’t take the home page so long to load, as the images are 1018X420 - and I currently have 6 slides in the slider.

Is there a way to add some custom css to my child theme for this?

Please advise.

Thanks so much.

Hi Kim,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

This can’t be achieved using custom CSS code.

You can try achieving this using the following plugin solutions.

> **[Lazy Load](https://wordpress.org/plugins/lazy-load/)**
>
> Lazy load images to improve page load times and server bandwidth. Images are loaded only when visible to the user.

> **[BJ Lazy Load](https://wordpress.org/plugins/bj-lazy-load/)**
>
> Lazy loading for images and iframes makes your site load faster and saves bandwidth. Uses no external JS libraries and degrades gracefully for non-js …

> **[LazyLoad Plugin – Lazy Load Images, Videos, and Iframes](https://wordpress.org/plugins/rocket-lazy-load/)**
>
> The best free lazy load plugin for WordPress. Lazy load images, videos, and iframes to improve performance and Core Web Vitals scores.

> **[Image Lazy Load](https://wordpress.org/plugins/image-lazy-load/)**
>
> Lazy load images to improve site performance, load times and reduce server bandwidth by only loading images when they're visible.
