How can I change the number of posts that my first page shows in the featured image? It used to be 4 posts but now all of them are there. Can someone help me please?

You can control how many posts to display on your site from the Reading Settings as shown in the attached screenshot.

I am having the same problem as @carolrosag.

Unfortunately, this fix only limits the number of posts displayed on a page, but it does nothing to limit the number of posts featured on the slider.

@adelvon The number of featured posts displayed on the slider which are assigned slider category so you can control which posts to display in the slider by adding or removing slider category from the posts.

Hello, my is happening to me as well as to carolrosag, since the update are shown in the slider all the featured images of all categories. Before the last 4 they were shown, if I remember correctly.

According Movin says you should select a category, so that only the images in that category are shown, but in my opinion the problem arises if a category there are many images, an excessive amount of images will be displayed.

Is there a way to revert back to only displaying the four most recent posts in the slider without assigning a dedicated category to them?

@dperusin The easier and safer way is to assign dedicated category to the slider posts but if you still don’t want that then you have to download and use older version of theme from this page - Revision 148440: /activello or use the child theme shared in the following topic and make changes in it in the theme function activello_featured_slider.
